Beyonce showed off her baby bump at the MTV Video Music
Awards on Sunday (29 August).

The pop superstar stunned photographers, fans and the
press at the awards ceremony in Los Angeles by cradling her stomach and showing
off a baby bump as she posed for red carpet photos in a flowing red gown.

The gossip sites and blogs went into overdrive as photos
of the magical moment shot around the globe via the internet and her
representative confirmed to People.com, “I’m happy to say it’s true”.

Beyonce who is expecting her first baby with husband
Jay-Z spoke of her pregnancy happiness as she began her joyful and energetic
performance of Love On Top during the ceremony, telling the audience at the
Nokia Theatre, “I want you to stand up on your feet, I want you to feel the
love that’s growing inside of me.”

As the track ended, Beyonce dropped her microphone to the
floor, unbuttoned her shimmering purple jacket and rubbed her baby belly
through high-waisted black trousers, laughing uncontrollably.

Cameras at the Nokia immediately shot to delighted rapper
Jay-Z in the front row, who soaked up the applause with his pregnant wife.

Following Beyonce's baby reveal, several stars took to
their Twitter.com accounts to congratulate the star and her husband. Beyonce’s
former Destiny’s Child bandmate LeToya Luckett was among the first celebrities
to send congratulations to the pop superstar. She tweeted, "Wow! In tears!!
Congrat’s Bey & Jay!", while Jordin Sparks added, "OMG Bey is
pregnant. I just squealed!!!"

Pregnant Spice Girls star Melanie Brown also took a
moment to offer her thoughts, tweeting, “I love the fact Beyonce just announced
she is pregnant, on her own terms, girlpower, love her!”

Glee actress Jenna Ushkowitz declared, “Beyonce - Preggo and
still in Heels. #respect.”
