Beyoncé Stuns Audience with Surprise Performance at the BET Awards

27 Jun 2016

The Drunk in Love star gave a taste of her Formation tour by opening the BET Awards ceremony

Beyoncé took a quick break from her Formation tour and shocked the audience by opening up the ceremony with her surprise performance.

Her dancers walked through the aisles as Martin Luther King’s iconic I Have a Dream speech played in the background. Beyoncé then took to the stage to perform Freedom, a track off her newest album, Lemonade. The A-lister performed in a giant pool, a routine from her Formation tour, and even brought a surprise guest to the surprise performance. Kendrick Lamar came out to perform his verse in the track, and the two closed the show together in the water. We can’t even walk in heels but Beyoncé can perform in a pool! Seriously unfair.

Beyoncé was nominated for six awards and won four of them, including Video of the Year and Best Female R&B/Pop Artist. Her mom had to accept her awards, as Beyoncé had to fly to London as soon as she got off stage. What a jet setter!
