Love tapas? The you'll want to try Bapas! Bapas is a play on Spanish tapas, but hails from Belgian. The new concept is set to open its doors in Dubai next month at The H Hotel at number one Sheikh Zayed Road.
Based on the idea of sharing dishes with a drink and friends, it is the brainchild of Belgian restaurateurs Lars and Ronny Haesen. They're no strangers to running successful bar and restaurant projects like their dad Ivan before them. He has built up an array of bars and restaurants in Belgium.
Acclaimed European chef Jeroen Bleus is responsible for the design and food elements of the menu. With the experience of having taught at hotel school Hasselt, Bleus will be in charge of training the staff to his exacting standards and menu knowledge.
Lars said: “Bapas is a play on Spanish tapas, but Belgian! It’s the sharing concept. We are aiming to attract the after-work crowd to our Belgian venue, and provide them great bapas dishes and drinks amongst good friends. We have a wonderful location and want it to be a home from home for our guests and friends.”
The lounge has been created by LW Design and aims to bring a piece of Belgium to the city of Dubai. Bapas will also deliver breakfast to neighbouring office towers.
