In a city overflowing with grill restaurants and steakhouses, we now have two more to add to our bucket list - the W Grill & Cocktail Terrace replacing seafood restaurant Mahi Mahi at Wafi Pyramids, and the Terra Firma steakhouse at InterContinental Dubai Festival City’s waterfront. The W Grill’s Executive Chef Angelo Albera has whipped up a menu of the finest grilled seafood and meat, including a succulent 42 oz Tomahawk steak, a Lancashire hot pot and corn-fed chicken with morel sauce. Plenty of veggies are also on the menu with inventive fare like a seven vegetables couscous, leek tart with carphilly cheese and slow-roasted tomatoes, as well as a creamy asparagus risotto. A la carte aside, W Grill also entices with a salad station, dessert counter and crepe station.

Meanwhile, over the creek at Intercontinental, Terra Firma is marking its launch by challenging guests with a hearty appetite to devour 2kg of Tomahawk rib-eye steak, 300gr of chunky chips and 300gr of béarnaise sauce – all within 60 minutes. Those tough enough to beat the Tomahawk Challenge will receive their meal for free and a commemorative apron as proof of victory.
