It’s a feast for the senses. Part bar, part club and part gourmet delicatessen, Barbary has broken the mold to become one of Dubai’s most exciting new venues. It takes inspiration from louche Parisian parlours and infamous courtesans.
If you haven’t tasted authentic Canadian poutine yet, you haven’t lived. At Barbary, this cheese-and-chip concoction is made with home-brewed chicken stock cheese curds, straight from Quebec. Other must-try menu items include gooey Babybell croquettes and, of course, the wide array of cured deli meats, home-made pickles and grills.
There’s something for every night of the week. After hours, Barbary transforms into a den of nu-disco and retro-tinged electro. The resident DJs hit the decks on regular theme nights including Disco Pink Fridays, Je T’aime Tuesdays and old-school vinyl thanks to Flipside Records every Saturday, not to mention a must-see line-up of international talent, such as Moulinex, David Moreales and Xinobi.
The three-course weekend brunch is seriously OTT. With a choice of three courses and an open bar at just Dhs299, options include homemade beignets, a full English breakfast, French-toast soldiers and a build your own Bloody Mary.
You can work as well as play. Once a month, Barbary hosts the Female Forward Sessions – a unique networking platform for women from all walks of life.
The nightly retro movie screening, focusing on Europe’s golden era of film.
