Baker & Spice Introduces the (Nearly) Full British Breakfast
Baker & Spice is shaking up its breakfast menu with some seriously satisfying meals – the star of the show is its (Nearly) Full British Breakfast. The meal features made-from-scratch sausages available in beef made from (grass fed) Heritage Angus beef with leeks and onions, spicy and smoky lamb or chicken with fresh herbs and chunks of chicken liver for extra richness. The sausages are accompanied by two fried eggs, slow-cooked, homemade Boston barbecue-style, organic baked beans, a fried tomato and the requisite fried bread, homemade of course. Guaranteed you won’t be hungry until dinner time! There is a little something missing for the English breakfast purists, but food consultant Yael Mejia says they’re working on an alternative for the traditional bacon. So fear not!
If English breakfast isn’t your thing, there’s eggs Benedict made with locally sourced, poached eggs served on Baker & Spice’s very own handmade English griddle muffins, toasted and buttered, together with homemade dry-cured bresaola and Hollandaise sauce. Keeping the menu seasonal, there’s fresh figs that are slow-cooked and served with rich ricotta cheese hotcakes flavoured with lemon zest and finished with orange syrup and candied orange zest. Aside from the breakfast newbies, Baker & Spice classics like shakshouka (eggs poached in tomato sauce with onions, peppers and spices), blueberry pancakes, French toast, and homemade granola or muesli are still available. We can’t wait to try it!
