The much-lauded see-and-be-scene stalwart of the New York and London dining world has come to the UAE’s sun-drenched shores, redesigned and re-launched, bringing with it a taste of Havana spiced with a far eastern twist.

If water-side vistas, an expertly mixed Mojito and a superb collection of Havana’s finest cigars weren’t draw enough, Cuban Chef Luis Pous has perfected a menu (set to be rolled out internationally) with small bites like tuna ‘Pica’ crispy wantons, innovative savoury shrimp churros with a coconut curry dip and more-ish pastry encased wagyu beef empanadas that are perfect to nibble on. More substantial highlights like chili-rubbed scallops with black rice and Japanese aioli and a mojo duck confit with Thai basil sit alongside safer staples like a strip streak with crispy chipotle potatoes and fresh hearts of palm.

Fine dining aficionados may opt to sit indoors in air-conditioned splendor but we suggest you bag an al fresco booth flanked by azure corniche waters on the one side and a terrace decked with twinkling lights, playing Cuban beats and oozing Latino cool on the other.
