The 29-year-old fitness fanatic climbs 4,000 feet least three times a week - and she's often up and about long before the rest of her showbiz pals, preferring early morning workouts. In the April issue of Shape magazine, she says, "To fit my workout into my day, I have to be out the door early.
"That means I don't have time to think about whether I'm tired or to come up with excuses. And I’ve found that when I exercise in the morning, I have a much more productive day. After I finish my workout, I feel as if I can conquer the world."
The healthy actress also makes careful choices about what she puts into her body, revealing she makes food choices based on what will give her metabolism a ‘crank’. Ashley loves fish, chicken, and vegetables like spaghetti squash and cauliflower, and washes her food down with green smoothies and juices.
"These foods energise me for my workouts," she tells the magazine.
But, just like the rest of us, she likes to cheat from time to time - and when she does, she chooses grits, cheese, red wine and a little Mast Brothers Sea Salt Chocolate. When she's not climbing walls or working out, the actress can often be found hiking with her four dogs in the hills near her home in Los Angeles, or surfing at the beach.
"Getting outdoors is so refreshing to me," she explains. "It’s a combination of the exercise, soaking up my surroundings, and clearing my mind. It’s my happy place."
Ashley will be heading even higher this year, as she's also learning to parasail. Now there's a fitness inspiration if there ever was one!
