Ariana Grande And Pete Davidson 'Call Off Their Engagement'
Ariana Grande has reportedly called off her engagement to comedian Pete Davidson.
The pop superstar began dating SNL star Pete back in May, very soon after ending her two-year romance with rapper Mac Miller, who died on 7 September this year. Fans were stunned that she announced her engagement to Pete a matter of weeks later in June.
The couple soon moved in together in New York City, but sources have revealed to TMZ.com that Ariana and the Saturday Night Live star split over the weekend.
According to TMZ, both parties have 'acknowledged' that it 'wasn't the right time for them'.
Pete himself has joked about Ariana leaving him "one day", saying, "I'm still convinced she's blind or hit her head really hard. Something is going to happen, and she's going to be like, 'What the **** is this thing doing around?'"
The reports have emerged just hours after Ariana pulled out of a scheduled performance at the **** Cancer benefit gala in Los Angeles on Saturday.
According to E! News, her manager Scooter Braun had to apologise to the crowd after revealing Ariana wouldn't be gracing the stage as planned.
"Someone I'm very close to was supposed to come sing for you today, and because of things that she's going through, she couldn't be here today," he shared. Then comedian Trevor Noah stepped in to replace Ariana with a stand-up set.
The charity performance would have marked the No Tears Left to Cry hitmaker's first show since mourning the loss of her ex, Miller, who died from a suspected drug overdose in September, at 26 years old.
It seems that Ariana has stepped back from the limelight following his death, posting emotional tributes to the rapper on Instagram.

i adored you from the day i met you when i was nineteen and i always will. i can’t believe you aren’t here anymore. i really can’t wrap my head around it. we talked about this. so many times. i’m so mad, i’m so sad i don’t know what to do. you were my dearest friend. for so long. above anything else. i’m so sorry i couldn’t fix or take your pain away. i really wanted to. the kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. i hope you’re okay now. rest.

She also bowed out of an appearance with Davidson at the 2018 Emmy Awards after the tragedy, with her representative stating she would be taking "some much needed time to heal and mend".
Ariana has been very frank about her emotional turmoil with fans online. Following her withdrawal as the musical guest for the recent season 44 premiere of Saturday Night Live, the 25-year-old hit back at a fan who called her "lazy", retorting, "Been thru hell and back and I'm doing my best to keep going (sic)".
"i'm trying to get my work done and get back to normal and it's hard and i'm human and tired," she later wrote in response to a concerned Twitter follower. Adding, "can i pls (please) have one okay day. just one. pls (sic)."
