Anchors Ahoy! Get in on the Traditional Dhow Festival at Katara

As the third Traditional Dhow Festival got underway at Katara, nearly 100 dhows from across the Gulf region afternoon sailed in for the opening ceremony. The dhows sailed from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE to celebrate the vessels, used by Arab sailors, traders, fishermen and pearl divers for centuries.

The fest has it all for those who love dhows and want to know more about them. Think heritage lectures, performances by renowned regional bands, live boat-building demonstrations, light and fireworks shows, kids' activities, exhibits from museums across the Gulf and, of course, dhow cruises!

See you there!
