He's a knockout: Amir Khan is coming to Dubai to open a gym

British former boxing champ Amir Khan will give his fans in the Middle East a chance to meet him in person in one of his most familiar environments – the gym.

The 27-year-old will be in Dubai on Monday 30 December to open up a new fitness and MMA centre at Sunset Mall.

Speaking ahead of his trip to The Emirate to officially launch EMD Fitness, Amir said: "I'm looking forward to my visit to Dubai for the official opening of EMD Fitness. It's an area of the world I love. I have always wanted to try and do my part to help boxing grow in this region because I believe there is so much potential in Dubai and the Middle East."

The silver medal winning Olympian continued: "Boxing is a great sport which helps to teach discipline, keep people off the street and just help with general fitness. I can't wait to see and test the facilities at EMD Fitness because I have heard many good things about it."

The new fitness centre boasts over 15,000 square feet of space filled with equipment and has picturesque views of the idyllic Jumeirah Beach.

Fans can meet Amir at the launch event on 30 December at 6pm after becoming members of the gym. For more information visit facebook.com/EMDFitness
