It’s been a turbulent time for Amber Heard and Jonny Depp, with the couple’s ongoing divorce proceedings going from bad to worse.
But it may all be over as the actress has allegedly dismissed her domestic violence restraining order petition against Johnny Depp, after the pair are said to have settled the divorce on Mon 15 Aug.
Filing legal documents withdrawing her request for protection from her ex-husband, Amber Heard dismissed the case with prejudice, meaning that it can never be re-filed.
The Alice Through The Looking Glass actor will reportedly pay Heard $7 million (over Dhs27.5 million) for ending the divorce battle.
On Sat 13 Aug Heard was questioned for six hours by Depp’s lawyers, Laura Wasser and Blair Berk, who then came to a settlement with her legal team.
The pair have now released a statement saying, “Our relationship was intensely passionate and at times volatile, but always bound by love... There was never an intent of physical or emotional harm. Neither party has made false accusations for financial gains.”
The statement also clarifies that The Danish Girl actress won’t be keeping all of the money from the settlement, "Amber wishes the best for Johnny in the future. Amber will be donating financial proceeds from the divorce to a charity."
Heard filed for a divorce on Mon 16 May, so it has been a long three months!
