Al Grissino, Emirates Financial Towers, Dubai
From Milan to Dubai. Al Grissino is a well-known humble trattoria in Milan, Italy, and has just opened the doors of its Dubai branch in DIFC. While it offers classic Italian fare such as pasta and risotto, the restaurant’s real forte lies in its seafood dishes, which are delightfully experimental.
Dare to be strange. There are several ‘out-there’ options on the menu, and they’re more than worth a look. The octopus with asparagus starter is a real highlight, and, for particularly brave souls, the chitarrine with sea urchin will surprise and delight.
Work your way up to the main event. While Al Grissino’s mains are small in size, they’re big on flavour, so opt for a few starter dishes to share, then indulge in the gallinella all’acqua pazza – tub gurnard poached in seafood broth, which is not to be missed.
Enjoy the view. It might not sound that high, but its 16th floor location provides more than enough elevation to glean good views of Downtown Dubai and Sheikh Zayed Road.
Set your inner chocoholic free. Chocolate lovers will go barmy for the cioccolatoso – a chocolate degustation of dark kayabe, dark vanuary, milk kaiabe and janduia chocolate.
