While his life reads less like a famed musician and more like a movie script about a kid from the wrong side of the tracks who had a non-existent dad, struggled his way through school to the point where he dropped out and went on to be an über famous hip-hop artist, Stephen Paul Manderson is every inch the image of his upbringing. He has fight wounds, scars and tattoos to prove it. But today performing under his stage name Professor Green, the 26-year-old is forging ahead in the music industry with a bright new attitude towards his lyrics. And he’s bringing that same tune to Dubai.
Ahlan! Live is proud to announce that Professor Green is appearing for the first time on 28th October at Chi thanks to EMI Music. "I'm very excited to be performing in Dubai,” Professor Green told Ahlan! Live Editor Shannon Wylie exclusively. “It’s not somewhere I had anticipated playing anytime soon, or at all, so it came as a nice surprise to get the invite. Its one to tick off the list. Barnsley, Hereford, Bingley, Dubai...”
It’s an even nicer surprise for Professor Green fans who will get the chance to see the international artist perform his hit tracks Just Be Good To Green and I Need You Tonight live. “I'll be performing tracks from my debut album 'Alive Till I'm Dead' which I hope is causing a storm in Dubai as we speak.” Just Be Good To Green was recorded with Lily Allen who Professor Green says as an unbelievable and unexpected experience. “We got chatting on Facebook and I mentioned the track, which turned out to be one of her favourite songs.” One thing lead to another and before Green knew it Lily was on tour with him.
From the streets of London where he battled it out to win contest after contest to be the recognized name he is today, Professor Green is looking forward to the next chapter of his life which entails his performance in the Emirate. “I'm not sure what to expect but I'm sure it'll be a night to remember and of course, HOT!”
“See you soon Dubai."
