Brunch Review: Akira Back, W Dubai
If you love Japanese cuisine as much as we do, then you’ve probably already treated yourself to W Dubai’s hot spot Akira Back. And if you haven’t been yet, the venue’s new Back at Brunch is the perfect excuse to do exactly that.
The famous Chef Akira Back has introduced his refined brunch as a one-of-a-kind, sit-down experience with extensive views of the Dubai skyline where you can indulge in the restaurant’s eponymous blend of Japanese fare and Korean essence.
And when we say ‘extensive views’, we’re not exaggerating. Overlooking The Palm, the Dubai Marina skyline and the turquoise ocean below, it’s an Instagrammer’s dream.
And the food is just as spectacular. Foodies can wet their appetite with the hirame carpaccio, grilled octopus and tuna tataki. Or sample delectable sushi options, all of which are unlimited, along with the chef’s biggest hits, such as the famous tuna pizza and tacos.
Diving into the mains, you’ll get to pick from the mouth-watering Wagyu don, black cod, jidori chicken and loads more. Not a meat eater? Fear not, the restaurant offers a brand-new vegan menu, so you won’t go hungry either.
Completing the menu is a divine dessert section, offering the luscious salted macadamia caramel popcorn and coconut sorbet butter mochi, yuzu citrus and black & white sesame cake. Even if you don’t have a sweet tooth, you’ll want to dig in – trust us. In fact, the caramel popcorn is a total life highlight. If you’re looking for the best of Japanese cuisine combined with the magic of Palm Jumeirah, Akira Back is a must-try (and see).
