Afrobeat Comes to Nasimi Beach!
South Africa's Mi Casa are coming to Dubai's Nasimi Beach

Two of Africa’s biggest music stars are heading to Dubai for a brand-new celebration of music, comedy and dance.

Johannesburg’s performer Mi Casa and Nigerian Afrobeat sensation Timaya will headline Industry Night at Atlantis The Palm’s Nasimi Beach, a new music-led monthly event staged by DIFC restaurant Kiza.

More than 3,000 people turned up to see Nigerian singer-songwriter Wizkid bring down the house last month, and organisers expect a similar turnout this time.

Mi Casa is widely regarded as one of the leading acts to emerge from the fast-paced South African dance scene. With tracks such as Jika, These Streets, La Vida and Your Body getting worldwide acclaim, this band of unique individuals combine their unique talents to create an explosive, original sound.

The three musicians, vocalist J’ Something, trumpeter Mo-T and producer Dr Duda, are close friends, furiously mixing their creativity to weave an album of warm, definitive house beats peppered with jazz trumpet and a powerful twist of soul.

Timaya started his solo career in 2006 with the release of Dem Mama, which was met with rave reviews and appeared on his debut album, True Story, released the following year. His second album, Gift and Grace, came out in 2008.

He gained further visibility and international prominence through his third studio album, De Rebirth, and its lead single, Plantain Boy, both commercial successes. He collaborated with Dem Mama Soldiers on the album LLNP, and in 2012 released Upgrade, which featured the hits Sexy Ladies and Malo Nogede. To date, Timaya’s work has earned him four Headies Awards, and one Nigeria Music Award.

Mi Casa and Timaya will be supported by Ghanaian rap star D-Black, Cap10, Tomi Thomas and Serah Sarah as well as DJs Tribe, Che and Schooly.
