Even singing sensation Adele, known for her powerhouse lyrics, can be at a loss for words. The superstar has revealed that she was left "speechless" after being nominated for six Grammy Awards.
In the shortlist unveiled in early December 2011, Adele had received nods in categories including Song of the Year, Record of the Year and Album of the Year. She’s been picked as one to watch for the Grammy Awards ceremony in February 2012.
The recognition is a big boost for the ‘Someone Like You’ hitmaker, who was forced to cancel a string of shows to undergo surgery on her vocal cords in November 2011.
Adele feels that she owes it all to her fans, and quickly took to her website to thank them for their support.
The singer wrote, "Just home from New York, that's my main excuse for not posting a message sooner, but I'm also completely and utterly lost for words. A couple (of) days after finally being able to talk again I'm pretty speechless.
"Thank you so much to the academy for nominating this record for 6 Grammys!!! This has been the best year as it is but to end 2011 with this incredible achievement and honour is beyond anything I can express.”
"Thank you to every single person who has taken a shining to this record, for making it have such an impact, this record has taken on a life of its own thanks to you. I made the record and you've made it what's its become."
Awww! Isn’t she the humblest? Here’s wishing Adele all the best for the Grammys!
