Abu Dhabi Island To Undergo Massive Transformation

Hudayriat Island, a 3,000-hectare island located southwest of Abu Dhabi is in for a massive makeover!

The Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council (UPC) has been in talks with stakeholders to discuss the potential utilisation of the island, and it is now set to be transformed into a mixed-use development, the centrepiece of which will be a 30km waterfront, reports Arabian Business

Abdulla Al Sahi, planning and infrastructure executive director of the UPC, said: “The UPC is delighted to get the planning work underway for Hudayriat Island. By utilising and enhancing the environmental features in this unique area of Abu Dhabi, this development will raise the standard of living, restore Emirati culture, promote healthy lifestyles and create a variety of coastal activities and attractions.”

The new island will also include a sustainable community with a diverse range of facilities. Along with the 30km waterfront, the island will be home to a public shoreline, green mobility network and rich natural environment.

We can't wait to see what the new Hudayriat Island will become!
