Abu Dhabi Beach Visitors Must Carry ID

Beachgoers in Abu Dhabi must carry personal identification with them at all times, police have warned.

Both tourists and residents are required by law to produce these documents upon request from a police official, the Abu Dhabi Police have announced in a statement.

“Visiting tourist attractions or beaches does not excuse residents and tourists from the need to carry personal identification papers with them,” said Colonel Dr Rashid Bu Rasheed, director of criminal investigation at Abu Dhabi Police.

The UAE capital has a number of public and private beaches, all of which become far busier during the summer.
