When I wanted to start running, I didn’t want to run alone and the existing running groups felt a little intimidating, so I put out an open invitation to ladies on Instagram and there was a great response. We founded #runlikeagirlAD, a group for women who aren’t professional runners and want a group experience. It takes place twice a week at Zayed Sports City and GoYAS.
I launched #theADmovement along with partners, Sarah AlNowais and Kristin Anderson, to create a dynamic environment for women to explore different fitness activities, learn about health, eat nutritious food and go shopping. Being healthy shouldn’t be a chore; it’s actually a lot of fun when you find a form of fitness you truly enjoy. I’ll admit that I once found running on a treadmill boring, and didn’t like to eat lettuce, or any green vegetables until I was 18!
As well as coaching and planning for #theADmovement, I’m also a government employee so most days I wake up for a short training session before going to the office. After work, I make my way to the gym for a CrossFit workout and coaching.
