A Step Back in Time
Me with Faye from Steps this week in Dubai
Being away from home, we all miss our families and friends, so I was thrilled to have my dear mate Faye from my band Steps staying with us all week. A few years on, I’m glad to say we’re just as close as we ever were, and it’s been great to catch up and show her around town. We started the week with a family beach day at Le Royal Méridien Beach Resort & Spa. Faye loved the hotel and the kids played happily in the big children’s pool all day while we caught some rays. We also talked about how it would be fab to do a Steps concert out here one day. I’d love for us to play Dubai Media City Amphitheatre – it’s an amazing music venue.
My friends have been raving about The Cure in Dubai Media City, so I went along to try a facial. After a consultation, my beauty therapist recommended the Nimue Deep Cleansing Facial. The hour-long treatment included steaming and exfoliation followed by a head, neck, arm and foot massage. My skin was glowing afterwards!

Hitting the Tiles at Q43
I took Faye to one of our fave local spots, Q43 at the Media One Hotel, to dine and dance the night away. We had something called ‘The Bull’ for dinner, which looked pretty impressive when it arrived at our table! It’s a wooden board in the shape of a bull with 2kg of meat and four varieties of steak, including Tomahawk and flank, complemented by sauces, sides and salads. The beef short ribs were really tender and mouthwatering! There’s a promotion there on Mondays, too, when instead of Dhs799 you only pay Dhs599 for The Bull, which feeds five, plus a bottle of red grape. The manager, Spencer, let it slip that he had a crush on Faye so, to say thanks for recommending the Bull, we had a photo taken together.
