A new Dubai-Sharjah road is opening to reduce traffic
Good news, road warriors, the RTA has announced a new Dubai-Sharjah 12 km road link that is set to open by June.
The Tripoli Street project will help to move traffic jams away from Ittihad road, Beirut Street and Mohammad Bin Zayed Road expecting to reduce traffic by 30 percent and an easier access to Emirates Road.
The new Dhs500 project has four interchanges, a tunnel and three bridges designed to ease vehicles along alternative roads. Wow.
According to the Gulf News, “Work is progressing at a fast pace on the project. The contractor has completed the extension of Tripoli Street from the intersection with Shaikh Zayed Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street up to Emirates Road and the bridge linking the extension of Tripoli Street with the Emirates Road in the direction of Sharjah,” said Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director-General of RTA.
