A heroic firefighter tragically lost his life in a Business Bay blaze in the weekend

Newsflash: a fire broke in an under-construction building at a Business Bay area last Saturday morning in Dubai. A Dubai Civil Defence (DCD) official said that the alert came at 10:40 am and firefighters from Al Quoz, Zabeel and Union fire stations rushed to control the fire. Unfortunately, The blaze led to the death of firefighter Corporal Tarik Abdullah Al Hawai, who was from Union fire station who died on duty while working alongside his civil defence colleagues. 

A spokesperson from the DCD said “It was a moderate fire in the parking floors of the under-construction building.” We don't know the exact reason behind the fire but it was controlled within a hour by the Dubai Civil Defence team.

Smoke from the parking floors came up along the height of the building and spread out in the neighbourhood. 

H.H Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, and the Dubai Civil Defence took to twitter to send their condolences to the family.
