Announcing her new arrival with husband Kanye West on Instagram on Tuesday, she wrote, "Kanye and I are happy to announce the arrival of our healthy, beautiful baby girl. We are incredibly grateful to our surrogate who made our dreams come true with the greatest gift one could give and to our wonderful doctors and nurses for their special care. North and Saint are especially thrilled to welcome their baby sister."
2. Nicole Kidman
The Big Little Lies star has two adoptive children with her first husband Tom Cruise, and expanded her family with her second spouse Keith Urban in 2008 after giving birth to a daughter Sunday. Her fourth child, a daughter named Faith was born via surrogate in 2010.
3. Tyra Banks
Model, TV star and entrepreneur Tyra Banks revealed she had her son York with boyfriend Erik Asla via surrogate after suffering from fertility issues and undergoing unsuccessful IVF treatment. Thanking her surrogate on Instagram she wrote, "As we thank the angel of a woman that carried our miracle baby boy for us, we pray for everyone who struggles to reach this joyous milestone. York Banks Asla, welcome to the world."
4. Elizabeth Banks
Actress and director Elizabeth Banks has had two sons, Felix and Magnus, via a surrogate.
After her second child’s birth in 2012, the star praised the surrogacy process, telling People magazine, "Like Felix, Magnus was born via gestational surrogate. This experience has exceeded all expectations, taught us a great deal about generosity and gratitude, and established a relationship that will last a lifetime. I am also so very thankful to our family and friends for their support throughout this process, as well as the Center for Surrogate Parenting for helping make all this possible."
5. Sarah Jessica Parker
Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker used a surrogate to have twins with husband Matthew Broderick after becoming frustrated at her inability to have more children after the birth of her son James in 2002. Her and Matthew’s twin girls, Marion and Tabitha, were born in 2009.
6. Lucy Liu
Charlie’s Angels star Lucy Liu revealed she had become a mother on Instagram in 2015. Her representative later told Us Weekly that her son, Rockwell Lloyd, was carried via a gestational surrogate.
7. Ellen Pompeo
Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo revealed her second child Sienna was born via surrogate, telling U.S. late night host Jimmy Kimmel that she would be eternally grateful to the woman who carried her child.
She said, "This is an incredible thing to do with your life, to give the gift of carrying someone's child. I am forever grateful and feel very blessed and grateful to her."
