7 Hidden Gems Among Abu Dhabi's Restaurants

We’ve done some digging in Abu Dhabi and rounded-up a diverse selection of hidden hot spots, where you can try some of the yummiest food in town.

Meknes

If you’re on the hunt for mouth-watering Moroccan cuisine, look no further than Meknes. Though it may not be the flashiest of restaurants, it has some of the finest dishes on offer. The harira soup and couscous with chicken, onions and raisins are both well worth trying. We were pleasantly surprised with the bill considering the generous portions and delicious dishes. Click here to see the menu.

Bonna Annee

How about sampling Ethiopian delicacies? North African nosh doesn’t get better than this. The intimate setting invites diners to try the restaurant’s authentic recipes. Give the minced abesh, injera and beef stir-fry a taste. Trust us, you’ll be returning here again and again. Click here to see the menu.

Russian Kitchen House Cafeteria

Though you may believe the name is a giveaway, this interesting restaurant revolves around more than just ravishing Russian food. You can also enjoy Ukrainian dishes here. There’s a lot to explore, so be ready for surprises when you visit. All of the dishes, including pancakes, pasta, pizza, pies and dessert, have a Russian twist to satisfy guests. You can also opt for more traditional plates such as manti, lagman, kvas and compote to guzzle down. Click here to see the menu.

No Fifty Seven Boutique Cafe

If you’re searching for a peaceful breakfast spot, look no further than No Fifty Seven Boutique Cafe. With a calm and soothing ambiance, the top-notch food is a real treat. Chow down on the scrumptious eggs Benedict – the salmon is superb! We’d also recommend that you grab a cup of coffee with your grub, and partake in some people-watching while you stare out the window. Take a break from the hustle and bustle of Abu Dhabi and allow time to slow down in this quaint cafe. Click here to see the menu.

Madang Korean

You don’t even need to be crazy about Korean food to fall in love with this outlet – though vegetarians may leave hungry. Order the garlic chicken or beef belly here, and you’ll soon be a fan of this spot. To accompany the menu, there is a great selection of adventurous drinks. The other dishes that we’re sure you’ll love – especially the newbies out there – are the japchae, mandoo, kimbap, kimchi rice and spicy beef soup. Click here to see the menu.

Vasa Vasa

We like to believe that gelato is the fancy, less-calorific way of eating ice cream. And at Vasa Vasa, there’s no shortage of the delicious creamy stuff on offer. Once you’ve had your fill, work your way through the menu that comprises delectable Italan specialities such as cannoli and ricotta. Click here to see the menu.

Hanoi Naturally

The menu here is heavily-biased towards – no prizes for guessing – Vietnamese fare. Pho and dumplings are the obvious choices that we just couldn’t resist, but you can tantalise your taste buds with the prawn mein, beef ball pho soup, glass noodle salads (such as the prawn and mango salad or papaya salad), stir fries in tangy sauces, marinated flavoursome fish and caramelised ginger chicken with lime leaves.
