US rapper 50 Cent was due to appear in Dubai next month according to Shoppiesta organizers, but after negotiations with the singer’s agent, the appearance has been called off.

According to Shoppiesta director, Radhesh Menon, 50 Cent was set to headline the festival at Meydan on 4 September with a one-night-only gig but recent contract negotiations have since fallen through.

“We had been liaising with American Talent Agency in the US, who had committed to us for bringing 50 Cent,” Radhesh said. “However, in the end, they were not able to deliver on their commitment.”

50 Cent is the second big name to be scrapped from the line-up with Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan also cancelling his appearance.

Performances still confirmed for the night include other Bollywood stars, Shahid Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Malaika Arora Khan, Deepika Padukone, Jacqueline Fernandez and Malaika Arora Khan.

INFO: Tickets go on sale 15 August. For more information visit www.shoppiesta.com.
