UAE residents will be getting a four-day holiday next month.

Saqr bin Ghobash Saeed Ghobash, Minister of Labour, has issued a circular regarding the private sector holiday marking Martyr's Day and celebrating the 44th UAE National Day, which falls on a Wednesday. The minister stated that the holiday will fall on December 2nd and 3rd for all employees working in the private sector in the UAE.

The announcement came following the orders of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to mark the November 30th of each year as the Martyr’s Day in honour and recognition of the sacrifices made by UAE martyrs to restore peace in Yemen, and pursuant to the provisions of Article 74 of the Federal Law No. 08 of 1980, concerning regulation of labour relations and its amendments.
