100Kmph Might Become the Minimum Speed Limit on UAE Highways
UAE drivers might soon see a new minimum speed limit

Major General Mohammed Saif Al Zafin, Head of the Federal Traffic Council has presented a suggestion to the UAE authorities that might just help curb road accidents in the UAE.

The proposal suggests to set the minimum speed limit for all vehicles on highways at 100kmph, as reported by Emirates24/7.

Since the gap between minimum and maximum speed limits is considered the cause for several accidents on the roads, the new suggestion attempts to counter this gap.

Major General Mohammed Saif Al Zafin told Al Bayan newspaper that the speed limit for trucks shall remain at 60kmph, with an additional margin of 20kmph.

The proposal has yet to be aproved by the UAE authorities.
