Chuckle at Punchline Comedy Club

It’ll be a laugh a minute at comedy club Punchline, which boasts three top comics on its latest billing. Dave Johns, a regular on British TV show Never Mind the Buzzcocks who’s acted alongside Christian Slater, will be joined by Aussies Wayne Deakin and Daniel Townes.

Have a Snowball Fight in the sun at Dubai Christmas Festival
Thu 5-Sat 7 Dec
We might live in the desert, but it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas – in Dubai Media City at least! The amphitheatre will be transformed into a grotto to make Santa proud and there’s plenty to occupy you, including a festive market, but our fave thing has to be the fact that it’ll snow on the hour, every hour! It’s not real, of course, but we don’t care! There’ll also be mulled vino, plus you can skate on the ice rink. It’s plastic, but that won’t stop Team Ahlan! having a go!
INFO: Dhs50 (advance), Dhs60 (door), Dhs85 (Gold Ticket, advance including mince pie, two drinks and Santa hat), Dhs100 (Gold Ticket, door), Dhs25 (children, advance), Dhs30 (children, door), 4pm-10pm (Thu), 3pm-10pm (Fri-Sat), Dubai Media City Amphitheatre, www.dubaichristmasfestival.com

A Brunch with a View… and desserts too!
Fri 11 Dec
It’s not the newest brunch in town but Observatory’s Friday offering is one that’s worth revisiting! As well as the stunning marina views and heaving buffet, you can order a choice of three à la carte dishes, including lobster tail. But it’s the desserts Ahlan! was raving about on Facebook afterwards. With everything from crème brûlée to strawberry mousse (served in cute martini glasses) we reckon they’re some of the best brunch puddings in town (and, believe us, we’ve tried a lot!). Defo worth the extra calories.
INFO: Dhs450 (house drinks), Dhs350 (bubbly), Dhs300 (soft drinks), 12.30pm-4pm, Dubai Marriott Harbour Hotel & Suites, 04 319 4795, www.marriott.com

Party with Ahlan!
Wed 11 Dec
Christmas is coming, and how better to kick off your celebrations than with your fave magazine? We’re holding a bash at Bapas, at The H Hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road. There’ll be a DJ, drinks, canapes and even presents! Bapas is a hip new bar which brings Belgian tapas to Dubai! Entry is by invite-only, but we have plenty of tickets to give away!
