HOPPER'S BATTLED CANCER FOR NINE YEARS DENNIS HOPPER was first diagnosed with cancer nine years ago, the acting icon has revealed.
The Easy Rider legend's manager Sam Maydew confirmed the star had prostate cancer last month after Hopper had been admitted to hospital suffering from "severe flu-like symptoms".
Speaking about his plight on Saturday, the 73 year old admitted the cancer was first diagnosed in 2002.
But he insists it's a fight he can win.
Speaking at the Breeder's Cup horse racing even in Santa Anita, California, Hopper told the New York Daily News, "It has great promise. Everything's good right now."
