UPDATE: Dubai's tallest tower is under construction

Expected to finish by the second quarter of 2020, the construction of Dubai Creek Tower began last year.

Slated to be even taller than the iconic Burj Khalifa, Dubai Creek Tower will measure a whopping 928 metres high!

The foundation of the structure has been completed, and truly took an army of machinery and labour to complete.

At least 170,000 cubic metres of soil have been dug up, 211,200 tonnes of concrete have been poured and 15,000 tonnes of steel cages have been installed at the site.

The Dubai Media Office has released released a video outlining the progress, in which it is clear the sheer amount of work that goes into building such a monolith.
