Travel to The Dubai Mall in a driverless vehicle

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) are soon going to be initiating trial rounds of a driverless vehicle, which would help people get to The Dubai Mall from the underground parking on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, and back.

Covering a distance of 550 metres, this shuttle service will allow 6-8 passengers to be transported at a time. It will also not cause a hindrance to any of the other modes of transportation, or increase the traffic in anyway.

What’s even more interesting is that this driverless vehicle will cross traffic intersections and interact with three traffic lights to get to the mall.

We wonder if it will be able to give us a lift home? Jokes! Although we bet that option will eventually become available in the next few years too.
