Downton Abbey

1 American Idol
WHY: It’s had a shake-up. Jazz singer Harry Connick, Jr joins Keith Urban and Jennifer Lopez on the panel, and he’s tipped to be the next big thing!
STARTS: 16 Jan, 9pm, OSN First HD

2 Helix
WHY: It’s a hot new sci-fi show about a team of scientists battling to save the world after a deadly disease sweeps the globe. Set in an Arctic research centre, it stars swoonsome actor Billy Campbell. He’s been in Dynasty, The OC and Melrose Place but, more importantly, once appeared on People magazine’s list of the World’s 50 Most Beautiful People. Phwoar!
STARTS: 18 Jan, 10pm, OSN First HD

3 Hello Ladies
WHY: It stars British funnyman Stephen Merchant (otherwise known as Ricky Gervais’ lanky sidekick) as a gawky Englishman who travels around LA on a mission to discover the woman of his dreams.
STARTS: 13 Jan, 11pm, OSN First Comedy HD

4 Downton Abbey
WHY: After a slightly disappointing Christmas special, series five of the epic British drama will return in the autumn. Get your fill while you can – creator Julian Fellowes has said: “It won’t last forever!” Boo!
STARTS: It won’t hit UK TV until autumn, so you’ll have a while to wait!

5 Two and a Half Men
WHY: Ashton Kutcher returns as a billionaire recovering from a nasty divorce. He shares the beachfront home left to Alan by his late brother, Charlie. Meanwhile, Charlie’s daughter shows up.
STARTS: Started on 4 Jan, but if you’re an OSN customer you can catch up on OSN Play for free via your TV or at osnplay.osn.com. After that, catch it on Saturdays on OSN First Comedy HD at 7.30pm

7 Banshee
WHY: If you loved the first series of this show – about a case of stolen identity – you’ll be eagerly awaiting series two. It’s from the man behind American Beauty, Six Feet Under and True Blood – no wonder it’s been such a massive hit.
STARTS: Started on 11 Jan, but OSN customers can catch up on OSN Play for free via their TVs or at osnplay.osn.com. Catch it at 11pm on OSN First HD, or buy series one from amazon.co.uk for Dhs90

8 Strike Back
WHY: A thrilling British Homeland-style show. Plus it stars the rather yummy Andrew Lincoln from The Walking Dead.
STARTS: Started on 13 Jan, but if you’re an OSN customer you can catch up on OSN Play for free via your TV or at osnplay.osn.com. It screens on Mondays at 11pm on OSN First HD. Get series one and two for Dhs90 each from amazon.co.uk

The Walking Dead
WHY: It’s a monster hit about flesh-eating zombies. Season four promises even more gore, jumps and scary plot twists – how many reasons do you need?
STARTS: Expected to hit OSN in Feb! Get series one to three on amazon.co.uk for Dhs240

10 Supernatural
WHY: We’re now onto series eight of the show, which follows two brothers following in their ghost-hunter father’s footsteps. In this series, Dean returns to Earth without Castiel, carrying the soul of a vampire named Benny inside his body… as you do! If you’re a fan, you’ll be pleased to hear there’ll be at least another two seasons.
STARTS: Started on 5 Jan, but if you’re an OSN customer you can catch up on OSN Play for free via your TV or at osnplay.osn.com. After that, catch it at 11pm on Sundays on OSN First HD
