The partners who lured superstar international DJs Faithless, Groove Armada, Basement Jaxx and Armand Van Helden, plus rock group The Script to Atlantis The Palm’s regular Sandance event at Nasimi beach have a lot to celebrate after a meteoric 2011. The Sundance beach side extravaganzas have undoubtedly put Greg Dufton and Tim Derry’s events and marketing company, Think, on the brain.
Dufton is the events management specialist with a bulging little black book – or Blackberry to be precise – of contacts, and venue-operation know-how. Derry, also known as DJ Tim Cheddar (due to his love of cheesy music), provides the creative spark, drawing on his design and copywriting expertise honed at advertising giant Saatchi & Saatchi.
2012 has started off on a high note; the first Sandance of the New Year will be featuring the highly anticipated Snow Patrol, DJ Calvin Harris and Eric Morillo.
