Hollywood insiders have revealed that TOM and KATIE’s rocky relationship has reached breaking point, with the actress desperate to escape her stifling marriage ‘contract’, and threatening her husband with what Tom fears the most – divorce!
Not spotted out with Tom for weeks – preferring to spend every second with Suri – Katie would call time on her three-year marriage this second, claim pals, but for one major problem – SURI.
With insiders revealing that Tom will never let Katie get custody of his only biological child – who he considers to be “gifted and talented” – moles also spilled that Katie’s being driven to the point of exhaustion by Scientology demands, with sources whispering that the extreme detoxes she’s been on over the past couple of months are making it hard for her to have the energy to fight back.

Tom keeps Suri close
Pals have revealed they first started to notice Katie was cracking under the pressure of her troubled marriage back in March, whilst filming her Broadway play, All My Sons.
A pal of the 30-year-old revealed that she appeared so exhausted because she had to continually fly back to LA from the Big Apple between performances, as Tom refuses to let Suri stay outside of California for any length of time.
“She was travelling back and forth between LA and New York, because Tom won’t let Suri stay away from LA indefinitely,” revealed the well-placed source.
Broken ‘contract’... and Nicole’s lawyers!
Insiders close to Katie claim the actress has served Tom with documents which call for a “Dissolution of contract, not dissolution of marriage”, but that Katie has not filed documents with the court.
Citing “irreconcilable differences”, insiders say that Katie is working with the same lawyer who presided over Nicole Kidman’s split from Tom after almost 10 years of marriage back in 2001, and that by calling time on their brief marriage, Katie is violating the terms of the ‘marriage contract’ she signed.
“She did not fulfill the terms of the contract that would maximise her payout,” spilled a source. “But she will receive a sizeable chunk of change to keep quiet about his personal life.”
Katie ‘wants sole custody’
Friends of the actress say she wants sole custody, but that Tom will fight her for it.
And insiders have pointed to Katie’s current obsession with spending every moment with Suri – with the pair recently spotted attending dance classes in LA every day – as an indication that the actress fears she may not win the custody battle.
“She desperately needs to be on her own for a while, but there’s no way Tom is going to let her take Suri away,” revealed Star. “He told her that if she goes to New York, fine, but he goes with her.”
Now career is first for Katie!
Fearful that her recent career slump coupled with no longer being Mrs Tom Cruise, could effectively wreck her future prospects, Katie has thrown herself back into the career that she had left to languish in favour of motherhood.
Having just signed up to star in new flick, Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark in Melbourne later this year – a big budget re-make that’s a departure from her recent indie flick choices – Katie has also attempted to increase her public profile, by inexplicably appearing in the audience for a recent taping of American Idol.
“Katie feels she had to strike while the iron is hot career-wise,” a friend told the National Enquirer.
