For British-born Australian expat Sacha Plumbridge, her arrival in Dubai eight years ago marked yet another milestone in her successful 17-year global designing career. A pivotal stakeholder in Dubai’s emerging designer scene, Sacha’s extensive experience working with internationally recognised brands and fashion houses has led to opportunities in modelling and broadcast media, making her the first port of call for styling advice for celebrities such as Portia de Rossi.
Last year, set to task as Sharaf Group’s head designer for the unique concepts of Gisella Blu and sister accessory brand Aurora Wild, the new fashion lines instantly drew the attention of the region’s glamorous fashionistas in search of iconic designs, who were the first to witness the collections prior to them being unveiled at Singapore Fashion Week.
It didn’t take long for Europe to cotton on to the buzz surrounding Sacha’s debut collection for the brand, with Vogue Italia describing it as “offering feminine and romantic gowns featuring lace inserts, pastel hues, dainty ruffles and romantic and Paisley prints”. Regionally and internationally, Sacha has proved that she’s one creative genius to watch.
