He might be 46 but Rick Astley still cuts a dash. We were super-thrilled when we heard he’s heading our way as part of the 80's Rewind concert at Dubai Festival City (also being dubbed a ‘huge school disco’).
These days our Rick is still travelling the world (he seems to be big Down Under) singing his hits. Though he had a few other songs, it’s his hummable 1987 tune Never Gonna Give You Up, which hit number one in 24 countries, that has kept his career going.
He also experienced a rather strange boost over the past few years called ‘Rickrolling’. It’s an internet prank which sees people given a link to a website, which bizarrely, lead not to what they want, but to a video of Never Gonna Give You Up. Yes, we’re confused too.
Also on the bill are Sheffield band ABC, Heaven 17, whose biggest hit was Temptation, No One is to Blame singer Howard Jones and China in your Hand band T’Pau.
