Qatar Airways to Add Miami to its US destinations
There’s good news for US expats and holiday makers looking to enjoy one of America’s hottest travel destinations! Qatar Airways has just announced it will begin flying non-stop Doha to Miami four times a week from 10 June 2014, so we can start planning ahead for a fab mid-year break sunbathing and people watching on South Beach.
One of the most famous holiday spots in North America, Miami is hugely popular with celebs for its relaxed beachside lifestyle and ultra-cool cafes, clubs and restaurants.
Qatar Airways has recently boosted the popularity of its frequent flyer program by joining the One World alliance, enabling frequent flyers to accrue and use points on a host of major international airlines such as British Airways and Qantas. The airline currently operates US flights to Chicago, Houston, New York and Washington DC. The airline will add Philadelphia to its flight routes next April, expanding coverage to a total of six US cities.
The US plan is in line with Qatar Airways wider international expansion which has seen ten new destinations added in 2013 – Gassim (Saudi Arabia), Najaf (Iraq), Phnom Penh (Cambodia), Chicago (USA), Salalah (Oman), Basra (Iraq), Sulaymaniyah (Iraq), Chengdu (China), Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), and most recently Ta’if (Saudi Arabia). Flights to Clark Manila International Airport in the Philippines are scheduled to begin on 27 October.
