Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich Hair- Would You?

Megan Schipani, a famous hairstylist trending on insta, has the natural gift to turn your single-coloured locks into a multi-coloured work of art. And her latest “project” nicknamed named ‘peanut-butter-and-jelly hair’ is achieved with berry and caramel coloured highlights. Is there anything more nostalgic of the childhood sandwich than that? Tough to say.

Shipani got the idea when a customer requested a different, multi-coloured and vibrant form of hair colouring without going too far into the weird territory.  "She couldn't have full-blown rainbow hair but was open to playing with deep reds and purples," Schipani told Allure. "She gave me complete creative control and that made my brain go crazy."

To get the amazing look of PB and J hairstyle, Schipani gave a deep purple base that resembled the jelly part of the sandwich. Then she kept alternating sections with caramel and berry colours to achieve the look. The outcome is simply gorgeous.

According to Shipani, any hairstyle of any length is suited for the PB and J highlights but the lightness of the colours depend on the customers original hair. Darker hair needs more bleaching which in turn needs more care.

After a while the PB and J highlights will start to fade. If customers like the tone-down look, they can keep it as it is or they can retouch it with darker shades every two months.

"It is always a huge help for a stylist to have visuals since we are pretty visual to begin with," Schipani explained "Then, we, as experts, can formulate a plan to give clients the look they want to achieve."

So grab your favourite highlights and head to your stylist to get that delicious looking hairstyle.
