Nol cards now necessary to enter Dubai's public parks

Your Nol card isn't just for the metro anymore!

Dubai Municipality has announced that UAE residents now need Nol cards to enter certain public parks in Dubai, reports Gulf News.

Paper tickets will no longer be issued at the following parks:

  • Zabeel Park
  • Al Mamzar Beach Park
  • Mushrif Park
  • Creek Park

Smart gates have been implemented at these parks, making Nol cards essential for entry. Even though the Nol card is only currently in use in the Emirate of Dubai, all UAE residents are required to purchase them in order to gain access to the parks.

If you do not have a Nol card, you will be required to purchase one of a Dhs25 denomination from the ticket counters in order to gain access. According to an official, Dhs6 is used for card activation and Dhs19 is left over as balance, and can be used to pay the entry fee to the parks.

“If there is balance left after paying the entry fee, you can use it in future for park entry or for public transport,” the official added.

The move is part of the civic body’s strategy to implement smart services and reduce the use of paper in Dubai.

It looks like your Nol card will be used for everything soon!
