Nadine & Chirine Sabaiti
From sharing each other’s clothes as children, these two Lebanese sisters followed their passion for fashion with the launch of their online boutique.
You launched TheHipster.com in 2012 – how has it been received?
Nadine (l): It’s been a hit in the region, where female shoppers were craving trendy and affordable online fashion that is tailored to their tastes and budgets. We were involved in many events in Dubai this past year, from the pop-up shop at Cipriani during the Madonna concert weekend to a fashion show at Blue Marlin Ibiza.
Tell us about the concept.
Chirine (R): TheHipster.com is an online fashion boutique that carries women’s fashion, from clothing to accessories, as well as some home décor items with an edge. A blend of bohemian chic, indie cool and edgy rock, TheHipster.com strives to bring a mix of up-and-coming designers from around the world who are not readily available here.
What makes it different?
Nadine: It offers its customers a colourfully inviting storefront, easy to wear, head-to-toe outfits and style tips, almost like a free personal shopper. And finally fast delivery and attentive customer service.
What are your favourite items?
Nadine: I love our dresses with all the different colours, shapes and designs that suit every occasion.
Chirine: I’m a big fan of our Hipster cushions since they are our very own label that were designed and executed personally by us. They’re gorgeous.
Have you both always shared a passion for fashion?
Nadine: As kids we shared the same closet, critiqued each other’s looks while we were still discovering our personal styles and encouraged each other to try new things and take a few risks.
