Monica Bellucci thinks a black dress is the "most perfect thing" to wear.
The Italian actress has described her failsafe wardrobe item. Monica has explained how a classic fitted dress is a timeless item and always makes her feel glamorous.
"Black is my favourite colour,” Monica revealed to In Style magazine. “A simple black dress is the most perfect thing. Sometimes, I think, if I gain weight, I will just wear black because it’s easier.”
Monica became the latest face of fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana this year, with the design duo gushing about the "ravishing" star.
However, the brunette model says being born with good looks is just the start of being considered beautiful. She thinks intelligence and self confidence are equally important qualities in those considered good looking.
“Beauty is a problem if you’re stupid, but not if you know how to use it,” Monica continued. “I know many beautiful people, but their lives are just terrible because they don’t know that being comfortable is not about what you look like, but how you feel.”
The mother-of-two is an example of how you don't have to be stick thin to make a success of yourself in the entertainment industry. Monica - who is admired for her womanly curves - says when she exercises, she does so reluctantly.
The 47-year-old says working out is only something she started to worry about after the birth of her second daughter in 2010.
“I began after Leonie was born,” Monica sighed. “But I don’t like to do it every day, or watch what I eat. I’m not a machine — I should be in good shape, but have never felt that I have to be skinny.”
