The Bodanis know how to throw a party and their extravagant mansion in Emirates Hills, overlooking the verdant Emirates Golf Club, is made for entertaining. “I was a bit of a rebel during the design process and challenged conventional notions; it’s an eclectic place,” Minal says of the neoclassical-meets-modern-Dubai home she shares with husband Hitesh. “Don’t be afraid to dream and dare. I wanted leather floors, so I researched until I found someone that did them.”
Among the gasp-inducing treasures on display are gold Swarovski wallpaper; a sculpture by Vijay Shinde; works by Dali and Picasso; a glass-walled garage housing a limited edition 1927 LaSalle car, handpainted by Andy Warhol; a private spa and a Beau McClellan sculpted spiral staircase.
The basement is all about socialising. Down here you’ll find the swimming pool, fully stocked cellar, golden mosaic spa, bespoke flooring (embedded with cultured and semi-precious pearls) and 12-seat cinema.
