Ramadan's the perfect time to help make a difference in the lives of others and we've got just the project that you should be part of. You can donate sewing machines, crafting tools, books and materials at Craft Land for their initiative called Trade for Aid for the RAEY community project.
What is RAEY? A community school for children in Ethiopia whose families suffer from extreme poverty and illness, the organisation aims to strengthen the family and the surrounding community through income generation and educational projects. One such source of income and education is crafting.
We suggest raiding your cupboards to check if you have an old sewing machine (one that's in working condition of course) or a bag full of wool or fabric that can be given away for a good cause. Plus, if you donate your sewing machine, Craft Land will give you 10 per cent off a new one as a token for your generosity. All the more reason to be generous!
