  • Confirming plans to open a second dry-cleaning outlet, while juggling the role of mother and government employee, while simultaneously working on the delicious Saudi/Belgian chocolate brand, Aani and Dani, to help them establish a presence in the UAE, are my biggest achievements of 2016.

  • I was given very good advice by my previous CEO at Emirates Foundation for Youth Empowerment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Maytha Al Habsi, who said: “Your smile’s your logo, your personality, your business card, and how you leave others feeling after having interacting with you, becomes your trademark.”

  • I’m highly influenced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai who’s recently called on public entities to come up with at least three innovative ideas every year that could be implemented to place Dubai ahead of other cities by 10 years. The initiative’s called '10X', and is all about thinking outside the box – a vision for the nation driven by a visionary leader.

  • They call me the master of dialects. I can speak almost all the dialects of Arabic perfectly and I’m willing to bet that 95 per cent of people wouldn’t know I’m Egyptian.
