The last year has been an incredibly fulfilling one. Achievements include the successful launch of The Outlet Village in response to a market trend and perceived requirement for a high-end luxury outlet – because even the well-heeled love a bargain. Its designer shopping and dining, in a charming medieval-style setting, has added a unique destination to the UAE’s urban landscape. On a personal level, I’ve also received my accreditation as Certified Marketing Director – Global, from the International Council of Shopping Centres.
There’s a great sense of pride in bringing destinations to life once projects are completed. No two days are the same, I might be at a construction site one day and hosting retailers the next.
Meraas has an exciting year ahead with some great destinations launching in the near future, including La Mer, Marsa Al Seef and Bluewaters, which will be home to the world’s largest observation wheel, Ain Dubai.
“Don’t sweat over the small stuff”is easier said than done for a perfectionist, but its great advice that can help you regain perspective, especially when you work in a diverse and fast-paced industry.
