White Dubai is known to occasionally bring out some big names in music, so when we heard the Meydan nightclub would be hosting both Kesha and Bebe Rexha in one night as part of the RedFestDXB official after party, we were ecstatic. We were assured both stars would be in attendance, and both would perform for at least ten minutes each.
We were however a little surprised by this exciting announcement, because both Kesha and Bebe are currently on the top of their game. It’s not every day you get to see such big stars perform in such an intimate venue. Just days prior, they performed together at the Grammy Awards during the ceremony’s most talked-about moment. So to go from the Grammy Awards to a nightclub is very unusual. But low and behold, they were booked to perform, and fans, including us, couldn’t be more excited.
Fans flocked to the venue, which was at full capacity, to see Kesha and Bebe perform. So imagine our disappointment when both stars failed to show up. Throughout the night the DJ kept hyping the crowd for the performances, but after 3am it became pretty clear that nothing was going to happen. And then, suddenly without any explanation, the lights went on and the party ended.
Sara Stosic, the venue’s PR and marketing manager, told Ahlan!: “Bebe Rexha and Kesha did not perform at White Dubai on Friday night as previously announced. Kesha endured a foot injury during her RedFest concert, and Bebe, who did attend White on Friday night, did not end up performing due to vocal cord implications. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and look forward to having them both join our roster of A-list artists. White Dubai has been a proud partner of RedFest, having hosted the official after parties for US rapper Russ, as well as Sean Paul and G-Eazy, and we look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship moving forward”.
Strange, considering both Kesha and Bebe seemed to be just fine at the RedFestDXB festival hours earlier. Kesha didn’t exactly bust any dangerous moves during her performance, and Bebe performed an extensive set list, even chatting away with the audience. It’s also worth noting that Bebe has performed at White Dubai before.
Whatever the case, many fans had to go home disappointed. Guess they’ll just have to come back and make it up to us.

UPDATE: We've just been informed that Bebe Rexha was indeed at White Dubai on Friday, but merely didn't perform (picture below).
