There are few real-life heroes in Hollywood, but it turns out Jamie Foxx is one of them. The Django Unchained actor heard a vehicle crash outside his Hidden Valley mansion on Monday night and rushed to assist at the scene.

Trapped inside a burning Toyota Tacoma was Brett Kyle, 32, as fellow motorists drove straight past, not stopping to help. Foxx struggled to free the driver on his own until finally another car stopped and the man inside supplied the star with scissors so that he was able to cut the driver’s seat belt and free the man before the truck went up into a blazing inferno!

The driver, who is in a stable condition, was taken to hospital to be treated for head, neck and chest injuries, and the following day his father, Brad Kyle, visited Foxx to express his gratitude, openly sobbing as he commended the actor’s bravery.

Despite his courageous feat, Jamie remained humble about saving Brad’s son’s life, saying: “I don’t look at it as heroic. I just look at it as, you know, you just had to do something. And it all worked out.”

There’s one brilliant act that definitely deserves an Oscar!
