It's going to be a foggy start to 2018

Today's the last day of 2017, and we know you'll be out celebrating.

A little warning however, the weather may not be on your side as the skies are expected to be particularly foggy tonight.

According to a forecast by National Centre for Meteorology (NCM), Dubai will have partly cloudy and hazy skies today, with a chance of fog and mist formation leading up to midnight. The first day of 2018 is expected to be the same, reports Gulf News.

As they do every year, authorities have stressed that those celebrating New Year's do their best to reach their destinations in a timely manner. Motorists have also been advised to drive carefully in these foggy conditions.

Whether or not the weather will obstruct the light show set to take place at Burj Khalifa tonight is yet to be known.

We would advise checking the forecast before heading out, we know we will!
