It's finally happened! After months of baby bump watching and 'when will she pop?' questions, Jessica Simpson has given birth to a baby girl. The singer-turned-fashion designer and her football star fiance Eric Johnson welcomed daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson at a LA hospital on 1 May. The newborn is both Jessica and Eric's first child.
Expectedly, the couple were thrilled by the new arrival. The official announcement from Jess read: "Eric and I are elated to announce the birth of our baby girl, Maxwell Drew Johnson. We are so grateful for all of the love, support and prayers we have received. This has been the greatest experience of our lives!!"
The "experience" happened in true celeb style too. The buzz is that Jess delivered Maxwell in a luxury maternity suite that cost $4,000 (over Dhs14,500) a day!
Jess' mum Tina and her singer sister Ashlee were both on hand for the baby's arrival, according to TMZ.com. UsMagazine.com reported that little Maxwell weighed in at nine pounds and 13 ounces.
Jessica confirmed her pregnancy news in October 2011 after months of speculation about her expanding baby belly.
